MIAMI, FL – Mandi and Patrick Duggan’s pregnancy had gone well. So it was a complete shock when their son Connor was born blue. Diagnosed with a life threatening bacterial infection, he was immediately flown to Miami Children’s Hospital by LifeFlight® to get specialized pediatric treatment. Once at Miami Children’s Hospital, Connor was put on an ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), a machine that acted as his heart and lungs, giving his body time to heal from the infection. It would be three weeks before his mom even got to hold him and two months spent in the hospital. Today, one year later, he’s healthy and well.
If not for the emergency transport provided by LifeFlight®, this story would not have a happy ending. Since 1978, LifeFlight® has played an important role in saving the lives of countless children throughout southern Florida and parts of the Caribbean. CIT is proud to support this life-saving program for a second year and bring awareness about LifeFlight® to the forefront of the aviation industry. Last year’s inaugural event raised $75,000 that went toward the purchase of an additional ambulance for the LifeFlight® fleet.
WHAT: CIT Aerospace, one of the world's leading aircraft leasing organizations, is hosting a golf tournament to raise funds and awareness for LifeFlight®. They expect their one-day tournament to raise in excess of $120,000 for the LifeFlight program®.
Connor will join his parents at the Diplomat Golf & Tennis Club this Friday as they retell their experience with LifeFlight® and how the transport saved their son’s life.
WHEN: Friday, February 27, 2:30 PM
WHERE: Diplomat Golf & Tennis Club, 501 Diplomat Parkway, Hallandale, Florida 33009, (954) 888-4444
